About the Project

The project aims to develop disruptive short‑wavelength infrared (SWIR) imaging technology by exploiting quantum‑dot nanocrystals. Researchers will evaluate the electrical behavior, performance, and environmental stability of QD‑based detectors, fabricate and integrate these devices, and build a demonstrator for applications such as smartphones, automotive systems, and agriculture. The work bridges QD chemistry, device fabrication, and advanced electrical and physicochemical characterizations within CEA‑Liten’s internationally recognised scientific ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate the potential of nanocrystal‑based approaches by evaluating electrical behavior, performance, and stability
  • Fabricate and perform advanced characterization of QD‑based devices
  • Contribute to the development of a SWIR imaging demonstrator
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment covering QD chemistry, device fabrication, and integration
  • Perform material processing, device integration, and physicochemical and electrical characterizations

Required Skills

  • Semiconductor materials, nanocrystals, microelectronics fabrication processes
  • Fabrication and characterization of electrical and/or optoelectronic devices
  • Dynamism, rigor, critical thinking, initiative
  • Ability to work autonomously in multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills and rigorous experimental approach
  • Fluency in English and French

Who Should Apply

Applicants with a PhD in materials science, physics, engineering, or electronic/electronics who have experience with semiconductor materials, nanocrystals, micro‑electronics fabrication, and device characterization, and who are fluent in English and French. Candidates who can work autonomously in multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate dynamism, rigor, and critical thinking are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

  • Balance between private and professional life (50 days off per year)
  • Active Works Council for leisure and extra‑professional activities
  • Minimum salary according to qualifications and experience
  • Access to a savings scheme funded by CEA
  • Industrial‑grade facilities for research
  • Participation in scientific conferences
  • Training to strengthen skills or acquire new ones
