The GloNoMo project, part of an ERC grant, aims to fill knowledge gaps on invasive non‑native plant species in mountain ecosystems by combining field observations, experiments, and macro‑ecological analyses of global monitoring data. It seeks to identify which species may spread, the drivers of invasion beyond roads and trails, and to improve classification of invasive species across continents.
Highly motivated early‑career researchers with an MSc in ecology, botany, biogeography or environmental science, strong statistical and R programming skills, experience with large datasets, good communication and teamwork abilities, and fluent English. Candidates with GIS experience are especially welcome.
The University of Basel, the oldest university in Switzerland, hosts an international and interdisciplinary Department of Environmental Sciences.
