The most widely approved are gnm (2,092), bsc-nursing (1,365), anm (1,176), post-basic-bsc-nursing (558), msc-nursing (163), pb-diploma-nursing (31). Each figure is the number of institutions approved for that course.
ANM is a two-year diploma in auxiliary nursing and midwifery. GNM is a three-year diploma in general nursing and midwifery. B.Sc Nursing is a four-year degree, and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a shorter degree route for candidates who already hold GNM. All are approved separately by the Indian Nursing Council, so an institution approved for one is not automatically approved for another.
