The project "(Re‑)framing industrial heritage in East Germany and Poland" investigates how industrial heritage was created, negotiated and used during the post‑socialist transformation. It analyses the adoption and adaptation of Western European heritage models within the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship and its integration into the European Route of Industrial Heritage, focusing on institutional and social actors and the construction of local, regional and European meanings through qualitative case studies, historical analysis and multi‑sited fieldwork.
Candidates who hold a doctoral degree in sociology, cultural studies, museum studies, ethnology, cultural anthropology, history or a related discipline, have a documented record of relevant research achievements, experience in desk or qualitative research, strong organisational skills, and proficiency in Polish and English (German advantageous). Applicants must not have obtained their doctorate from Jagiellonian University and must be eligible under NCN criteria.
